Goal

Under Midhudsonmedia, this streaming video platform was built as an education tool for nurses and other medical professionals. The client wanted not only a large high quality video, but also requested for transcription to be included for each video as well as syncronized powerpoint slides which would play alongside of the video.

Features

The video platform features streaming flash 9 video with full screen capabilities. AJAX was used in conjunction with Coldfusion to pull video information in real time from a SQL Server database. Each video contains meta data as well as transcriptioning and related powerpoint slides. Both the transcription and the powerpoint slides are shown in real time and are synced to the video using flash actionscript. AJAX was also used to provide search capabilities where the user could search the video transcript and meta data and have the results displayed without any interruption in the video. The project was a complete success as not only did it provide superior quality video but it also showcased many complex mini-applications that all synced directly with the video timeline and highlighted a new and unique way to view video on the internet.
